Golden Hour Opera Duster (Full Length)

$148.00

Wander through our garden… in its glowing season.
Golden Hour is the sister print to our much-loved Love Grows Wild design, created from the same exquisite source material…but told at a different moment in the year. Instead of spring’s first rush of bloom, this design celebrates the richness of late summer and autumn, when the garden deepens, softens, and turns to gold.
The florals come from the 12 Months of Flowers, a remarkable series of hand-coloured engravings from the 1700s by Henry Fletcher, originally commissioned by celebrated English gardener Robert Furber. For Golden Hour, we selected flowers from the months of September through December, layering them together into a lush, painterly collage — sunflowers, asters, yarrow, and late-blooming treasures gathered into a single, glowing garden.
Instead of bees, the trim features a beautifully detailed hand-coloured engraving of a swallow from the 1800s — a timeless symbol of return, transition, and hope. The result is a rich, golden riot of flowers that feels warm and abundant, yet endlessly wearable — a piece that belongs as much to autumn and winter as it does to spring. It’s how our garden grows… and glows.

― Virginia Woolf

How To Wear

+

This Opera Duster is autumn at its most abundant — warm golds, amber, merlot, and sage layered into a lush, painterly garden that glows from every angle. For warm days, we love it open over linen trousers and a simple sage or black cami, then finished with sandals and gold jewelry — the sunflowers and late-blooming asters feel  right at home in the summer sun :) And for a classic autumn look, wear it over dark denim and a turtleneck, finished with leather ankle boots — rich, grounded, and effortlessly seasonal. For a more dramatic take, we love it paired with the matching Bohéme Slip Dress — add ankle boots and a gold-buckle belt for a head-to-toe look that feels like the garden at its most glorious. And for evenings out, pair it with wide-leg velvet trousers or skirt, a fitted black top, and statement earrings — sweeping, confident, and glowing like the last light of a long golden day.

The gatherer, the golden soul. Women who know when to harvest and when to rest, who savour the richness of what has grown. Women who glow in every chapter.

The original 12 Months of Flowers engravings were created as both art and garden guide — published as a seed and flower catalogue that showed what would be blooming throughout the year. While we adore the months that focus on spring’s exuberance, we’re equally drawn to the magic of the later months, when the garden becomes deeper, moodier, and more reflective.

Swallows have long appeared in art and folklore as messengers of the seasons, known for their long journeys and faithful returns. Paired with late-blooming flowers, they felt like the perfect companion for Golden Hour — a reminder that beauty doesn’t fade as the year turns, it simply changes tone. We invite you to linger in the garden… whatever the season :)
